Botanica Bamboo Massage at Spa Botanica: Review

My staycation account at Capella Hotel and my review of the Auriga Spa seem to be rather popular among my readers. So here’s another pampering treat at Sentosa you can consider!

Visiting Spa Botanica at The Sentosa Spa & Resort is always a treat. Because the ambience the spa was able to provide immediately sets you in a holiday mood. No matter how stressed I may feel, just spending a few hours at Spa Botanica helps me forget my worries for a while.

The spa also has many great facilities (like the float pool, mud pool and tea pavilion) that I can spend HOURS just relaxing within the spa.

This time, I visited the spa for a review of their newest massage – the Botanica Bamboo Massage. No thanks to walking in heels and sitting before the computer working for many hours straight (even on weekends), I pretty much feel achy everywhere – particularly on my upper back and calves. The BBB has been doing his best to give me his rendition of massages (which aren’t actually too bad!) but nothing beats getting treated by a professional.

The Botanica Bamboo Massage does exactly what I need – it’s designed for improving blood circulation, lymphatic drainage, and relieve muscle tension. What’s special about this treatment is that instead of the therapist’s hands only, the therapist also uses warm bamboo sticks to help slide, tap, pivot different muscles.

The treatment left my muscles all loosened and relaxed. The bamboo canes felt especially comforting on the calves (YAY!) and the shoulders.

Spa Botanica Rooibos Face & Body Anti-Aging Delight: Review

Do you know what Rooibos is?

rooibos tea

I haven’t heard of it before I tried Spa Botanica’s face and body treatment that uses this herb. Rooibos is also known as red bush or red tea, is a herb that’s unique to South Africa. This herb is known for its potent anti-oxidant properties, and is said to help boost immunity and has anti-ageing properties.

Spa Botanica is one of my favourite spas in Singapore because it’s so reclusive and the therapists are really good at what they do.

I arrived in the afternoon and first went for a light lunch at The Garden, a restaurant that’s attached to the spa.

Then, I was ushered to an indoor treatment room (the last time, I went to the outdoor pavilion) for my treatment.

Spa Botanica Spa by Night: Review

Last August, I booked a Spa by Night package with Spa Botanica as a birthday treat for The Boyfriend. I finally feel inspired to do a review on it 🙂

This was taken after dinner and it was really dark. This was the best pic we could manage 😦

The service

I booked for the session via email and I was incredibly pleased with the speed of reply, the comprehensive information and generally grammatical language. Although different duty officers took charge of replying to my queries everyday (I had a few questions), the response was seamless, so it’s evident that each officer did a proper hand over to the next duty officer, or they have done their “homework” by reading the threads before replying me. I made the enquiry on 24 July and all queries and booking was done by 27 July.

What Spa by Night consists of

It was one of the promotional packages available, and costs $269 nett per person. The package includes a treatment of your choice, followed by a four-course dinner. All guests are also entitled to complimentary usage of the spa garden facilties, which included the swimming pool, float pool with cascading waterfalls, mud pool and indoor jacuzzi from 10am to 6.30pm.
