Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes: Review

27 Feb

I’ve been holding back this news for quite a while, but I guess it’s time to share the launch, as well as my thoughts about the Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes.

This launch, I’d say, is so atypical of Lancome. My impression of Lancome is that elegant and sophisticated Parisian woman, and the Hypnose Doll Eyes seem to embrace all things fun, girlish and jolly.

The launch event is also an eye-opening experience – and I meant it both metaphorically and literally!

How it works?

The main feature of this mascara is in the conical brush tip. The design ensures that the formula is able to capture every lash, including the shorter ones at the corner of the eyes. As for the formula, it is enriched with nylon powders so the lashes don’t just get lengthened, they also have a subtle sheen (a la doll lashes!) thanks to the “fiber shine” technology.

As if these are not sufficient, the mascara is also fragranced and it kind of complete the whole “doll eyes” experience. Talk about being an over-achiever!

Here are press images that I was quite impressed with:

I’m not sure if you noticed, the muse behind this mascara is Twiggy and the whole 1960s fashion culture.

I also wore the mascara on my Valentine’s Day date. You could see pictures of me here.

Anyway, visit the Lancome Singapore Facebook fan page and create a doll avatar for yourself  using the Hypnose Doll Eyes app (find it on the left side bar) and stand to win the product for yourself :) Here’s mine:

A tad scary, but oh well!

Have fun, y’all!

Oh, and the Lancome Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara retails at $50, and will be available from 1 March.

By the way, if you haven’t read about my awesome giveaway, you should!
